Hi. I’m Michael.

I’m an Author and a Filmmaker working to craft hopeful stories for complex people. I also love a good poop joke (or ten). I have published and run several blogs and sites before, and this is the last one of them.

I was born in raised in a potato chip warehouse (and a regular house) in Cranston, RI. After receiving my degree from Columbia University in 2006, I spent another fourteen years in NYC (Brooklyn) before moving to South Burlington, VT, in 2020.

A self-taught, middle-class independent artist, my goals with my work are to deliver thoughtful, accessible stories that more closely resemble the everyday lives of American audiences, particularly when it comes to real-world issues surrounding contemporary economics, inequality, and mental wellness.

As a hub for this work, in 2021 I founded Last Site Media. That’s where you’ll find the latest news on film releases (Last Site Pictures), and on book publications and other fiction offerings (Last Site Press).

I’m grateful to be able to say that films written and directed by me have screened in theaters and in homes around the world. My most recent feature film, The Sleepless, is releasing in Spring 2021.

My first feature, The Videoblogs, screened nationally during Mental Health Month in 2016, and is currently available to watch on Amazon and Vimeo. RogerEbert.com called it “…a provocative indie.” A third, experimental feature is currently in post, and a fourth is in development.

Finally, my first novel will also be releasing in 2021. It’s called Cessation, and it’ll be in bookstores soon, via Last Site Press.

I truly appreciate you stopping by, and hope you enjoy the site. You’d better — it’s the last one!
